Laura Ashley is an international lifestyle retailer, known for the quality of its distinctive and inspirational products.

Laura and Bernard Ashley started printing fabric on their kitchen table in London in 1953, following a Women’s Institute exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum on traditional handicrafts. By 1975 the Company had grown faster than anyone could have predicted - turnover had increased to £5 million per year.

The Company has growing franchise operations all over the world, including the Far East, Australia, Scandinavia and South America, as well as increasing numbers of licensing projects for products including carpets and eyewear.

2007 has seen the Company receive the House and Garden award for Design Retailer of the Year, voted for by the magazine’s readers. Total Group sales are also up by 6.9% compared to last year.
