Running a shop for Scope is retailing with a difference. You’ll get much more from this than your average management role as you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that your efforts are helping Scope to ensure that disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else.
With a hands on approach, you’ll encourage donations, sort and present stock, provide excellent customer care and motivate your team including recruiting volunteers.
With an interest in fashions trends experience of working in a retail environment is essential and you will have proven organisational and prioritising skills. You must have worked in a team environment and dealt with customers and be confident enough to work on your own initiative, and lead others and make decisions.
Our opening times and hours of work mirror the wider retail sector in that our shops are open every day including weekends. Full-time vacancies are 35 hours a week subject to a rota of working 5 days over a 7 day period. Similarly, part-time vacancies will feature the weekly hours over a 7 day period.
You must be prepared to work some Saturdays and bank holidays as required and lift heavy or bulky items.
Benefits include holiday, pension, full induction, training and development (you may have the opportunity to obtain an NVQ qualification in Retail that includes Team Leadership and Customer Service) and an employee assistance programme.
